What is the Diversity & Inclusion Assessment?
The Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Assessment is an online benchmarking tool developed specifically for firms in the construction industry to measure and improve the management of their current diversity & inclusion programs, policies, and practices.

Who developed the Diversity & Inclusion Assessment?
As part of our Culture of CARE program, AGC developed the Diversity & Inclusion Assessment in collaboration with industry experts through the AGC Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee and D&I Assessment Work Group.
How does it work?
Since the Assessment is web-based and dynamic, your company can interact with the data to answer performance-based questions in four key areas of diversity and inclusion:
- Workplace
- Workforce
- Vendors (Subcontractors/Suppliers)
- Community
Upon completion, you will be able to analyze the results, measure your progress, and download best practice resources to expand your D&I efforts. As the Assessment becomes widely used, your company will also be able to benchmark your practices against other construction firms.
Is the Assessment for individuals or organizations?
The Diversity & Inclusion Assessment should be completed from an organization-wide perspective, not an individual perspective. The Diversity & Inclusion Assessment is intended to evaluate the overall health of your company in the four key areas of diversity & inclusion mentioned above. While the assessment is geared towards construction firms, any organization that works in the A/E/C industry can benefit from the Assessment. In order to accurately complete the D&I Assessment, you may need to involve individuals from across your company to help you accurately answer the questions from an overall organization perspective.
Will the companies that take the Assessment be listed publicly?
No. We will not publish a list of companies that have completed the D&I Assessment.
Will my company’s answers and scores remain confidential?
Yes! The assessment provides an aggregate of the results from all the companies that have taken the Assessment to allow companies to benchmark themselves against other firms. However, no individual company results will be made public. Read our data integrity statement.
Who should respond to the questions on behalf of our company?
The individual with the most responsibility for your company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and outcomes should respond on behalf of your company. However, it is important that the data is reflective of your company’s actual policies, programs and practices in order to obtain accurate results. To ensure this, you may need to involve individuals from across your company to help you complete the Assessment.
